ADM1276-3ACPZ-RL

The ADM1276-3ACPZ-RL is a hot swap controller and digital power and energy monitoring IC from Analog Devices. It allows circuit boards to be removed from or inserted into a live backplane while providing current and voltage readback via an integrated 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) accessed through a PMBus interface.

Key features include a supply voltage range of 2V to 20V, a fast 370 ns response time to short circuits, and a resistor-programmable current limit from 5 mV to 25 mV. The device offers ±1% accurate 12-bit ADC for current, VIN, and VOUT readback. It supports multiple external N-channel FETs with charge-pump gate drive for low RDSON and includes foldback protection for tighter FET SOA.

This controller provides automatic retry or latch-off on current faults, a programmable current-limit timer, and a multifunction GPO for power-good status. It reports power and energy consumption over time and features peak detect registers for current and voltage. The ADM1276 is compliant with PMBus fast mode.
