The ADM1070ARTZ-REEL7 is a negative voltage hot swap controller from Analog Devices, enabling safe insertion and removal of boards from live -48V backplanes. It provides robust current limiting and protection against transient and non-transient short circuits, as well as overvoltage and undervoltage conditions.

This controller typically operates from -36V to -80V and can tolerate transient voltages up to -200V. It features accurate programmable linear current limiting for in-rush control and short circuit protection, with a programmable timeout in current limit. The device includes a limited consecutive retry function, automatically restarting after a current limit timeout and shutting down after seven consecutive auto-restarts until power is reset.
