The ADIS16255ACCZ from Analog Devices is a complete angular rate measurement system integrated into a single compact package. It utilizes iMEMS sensor technology combined with embedded signal processing to provide factory-calibrated and tunable digital sensor data accessible via an SPI serial interface. This gyroscope offers digital range scaling with settings of ±80°/sec, ±160°/sec, and ±320°/sec. The sensor outputs 14-bit digital data, and it includes a 12-bit digital temperature sensor. The operating temperature range for the ADIS16255 is -40°C to +85°C. It features a 50 Hz sensor bandwidth and operates on a single supply voltage from 4.75 V to 5.25 V. The device is designed for applications such as instrumentation control, platform stabilization, motion control and analysis, avionics, navigation, image stabilization, and robotics. It is supplied in a QFN package and supports tape and reel packaging.
The ADIS16255ACCZ includes features like in-system auto-zero for bias drift calibration, digitally controlled sample rate and frequency response, dual alarm settings, and an embedded integration for short-term angle estimates. It also supports digitally activated self-test and low-power modes, along with interrupt-driven wake-up functionality. The SPI-compatible serial interface allows access to gyroscope, temperature, power supply measurements, and one auxiliary analog input. An auxiliary 12-bit ADC input and a 12-bit DAC output are also provided, alongside auxiliary digital input/output pins. The device exhibits 2000 g powered shock survivability.
