The ADG701BRM is a monolithic CMOS SPST (Single-Pole Single-Throw) analog switch designed and manufactured by Analog Devices. It is built on an advanced submicron process that delivers low power dissipation, high switching speed, low on resistance, and low leakage currents. The device operates from a single 1.8V to 5.5V supply, making it suitable for battery-powered instruments and portable applications.
Key electrical characteristics include a typical on resistance of 2Ω, with a maximum of 3Ω at 5V and 5Ω at 3V. The on resistance flatness is 1Ω maximum, ensuring consistent performance across the signal range. The switch offers a -3dB bandwidth of 200 MHz minimum, enabling use in high-speed analog and video signal paths. Fast switching times are achieved with a typical turn-on time of 18ns and turn-off time of 12ns. Power consumption is extremely low at less than 0.01μW typical.
The ADG701BRM is packaged in an 8-lead MSOP (Micro Small Outline Package) with a 0.118" body width, suitable for surface mount assembly. The switch is bidirectional and conducts equally well in both directions when enabled. It is TTL/CMOS compatible and supports rail-to-rail operation. Typical applications include battery-powered systems, communications equipment, sample-and-hold circuits, audio signal routing, video switching, and mechanical reed relay replacement.
