The ADC78H89CIMT is a low-power, seven-channel CMOS 12-bit analog-to-digital converter from Texas Instruments. It features a successive-approximation register (SAR) architecture with an internal track-and-hold circuit and a maximum conversion rate of 500 kSPS. The converter accepts up to seven single-ended input signals on pins AIN1 through AIN7.
Data output is serial and compatible with SPI, Microwire, and DSP interfaces. The device operates with independent analog and digital supplies: AVDD from 2.7V to 5.25V and DVDD from 2.7V to 5.25V. Typical power consumption is 1.5 mW at 3V supply and 8.3 mW at 5V supply. The ADC achieves a signal-to-noise ratio of 72.8 dB and ensures ±1 LSB maximum DNL and INL.
The ADC78H89CIMT is packaged in a 16-lead TSSOP (Thin Shrink Small Outline Package) with a 4.40mm body width, designed for surface-mount assembly. It operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. The reference type is supply-based, simplifying the external reference circuitry.
