The ADC12L038CIWM is a 12-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter from Texas Instruments. It offers configurable input multiplexing supporting either 4 differential or 8 single-ended inputs, making it suitable for multi-channel data acquisition systems. The device achieves a maximum sampling rate of 0.73 MHz and communicates via an SPI digital interface.
The converter uses an external voltage reference and operates from a supply voltage range of 3V to 5.5V. The SAR architecture provides a good balance of speed and resolution for many industrial and instrumentation applications. The integral nonlinearity (INL) is specified at a maximum of 0.0244%, and the output format is 2's complement binary.
The ADC12L038CIWM is housed in a 28-SOIC surface-mount package with gull wing terminals. It is rated for operation over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.
