AD9913BCPZ Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD9913BCPZ is a complete direct digital synthesizer (DDS) from Analog Devices. It integrates a 10-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) that operates at up to 250 MSPS internal clock speed. The device is designed to meet the power constraints of portable and battery-powered equipment, consuming only 50 mW typical at full speed. It can generate analog output frequencies up to 100 MHz with a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of greater than 80 dB at 100 MHz (measured at ±100 kHz offset). Frequency resolution is 0.058 Hz or better, and phase tuning resolution is 0.022°.

Featuring a 32-bit tuning word, the AD9913BCPZ supports automatic linear frequency sweeping and eight frequency/phase offset profiles. It offers parallel and serial programming interfaces, along with an optional internal PLL REF_CLK multiplier and an internal oscillator that can be driven by a single crystal. The device operates from a 1.8 V supply and includes software and hardware controlled power-down functions.

The DDS is available in a 32-lead LFCSP package (5x5 mm) and is specified for the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It is suitable for applications such as agile local oscillator frequency synthesis, programmable clock generation, FM chirp sources for radar and scanning systems, and portable or handheld equipment.
