The AD9912ABCPZ is a high-performance Direct Digital Synthesizer (DDS) IC manufactured by Analog Devices. It integrates a 1 GSPS 14-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) and supports an internal clock speed of up to 1 GSPS, with direct output frequencies up to 400 MHz.
This DDS features a 48-bit frequency tuning word (FTW) that enables extremely fine frequency resolution, as small as 4 µHz. The device operates over an industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is available in a 64-lead LFCSP package. Its flexible system clock input accepts either a crystal or an external reference clock, and it includes an on-chip low-noise PLL REFCLK multiplier.
Key electrical specifications include a 14-bit DAC resolution and a master clock frequency of 1 GHz. The device also offers excellent dynamic performance, with residual phase noise figures such as -113 dBc/Hz at 10 Hz offset and -133 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset (measured at 250 MHz).
Applications for the AD9912ABCPZ include agile LO frequency synthesis, low jitter clock generation, test and measurement equipment, wireless base stations, secure communications, and fast frequency hopping systems. It is supplied in a 64-lead LFCSP-VQ (9x9) surface-mount package.
The device operates from 1.8V and 3.3V supplies.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
The package is 64-LFCSP-VQ (9x9) for surface mount.
RoHS3 Compliant (unverified).
The internal clock speed is 1 GSPS.
The DAC resolution is 14-bit.
The frequency resolution is 4 µHz with a 48-bit tuning word.
