The AD9887AKS-170 is a dual analog and digital interface IC from Analog Devices, designed for flat panel displays. It integrates a 140 MSPS triple ADC with an internal 1.25V reference and a PLL for pixel clock generation from HSYNC. The analog interface offers 330 MHz bandwidth and an input range of 0.5V to 1.0V. The digital interface is DVI 1.0 compatible and operates up to 112 MHz in 1 pixel/clock mode. PLL clock jitter is 500 ps p-p at 140 MSPS.
The device operates from a 3.15V to 3.45V supply and is available in a 160-BQFP package (160-PQFP 28x28) for surface mount assembly. It supports full sync processing, midscale clamp, and 4:2:2 output format. Applications include RGB graphics processing, LCD monitors, projectors, plasma displays, scan converters, and digital TV. The AD9887AKS-170 offers designers flexibility by allowing selection of either the analog or digital interface on a single chip.
