The AD9858BSV is a direct digital synthesizer (DDS) from Analog Devices that integrates a 10-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) with a maximum internal clock speed of 1 GSPS. It supports an external input clock up to 2 GHz with a selectable divide-by-2 feature. The device uses a 32-bit tuning word for fine frequency resolution and offers both simplified 8-bit parallel and SPI serial control interfaces.
Operating from a 3.3V supply, the AD9858BSV has a typical power dissipation of 2 W. It includes four frequency profiles for agile frequency hopping and is designed for applications such as VHF/UHF LO synthesis, tuners, instrumentation, and agile clock synthesis. The DDS also integrates a programmable charge pump and phase frequency detector with fast lock circuit, as well as a 2 GHz mixer.
