The AD9857AST from Analog Devices is a high-performance 14-bit quadrature digital upconverter. It features a 200 MHz internal clock rate and an excellent dynamic performance with 80 dB SFDR at 65 MHz. The device supports a 4x to 20x programmable reference clock multiplier and includes an internal 32-bit quadrature DDS.
Designed for applications such as HFC data, telephony, and video modems, as well as wireless base stations and broadband communications, the AD9857AST offers flexibility with four programmable signal profiles and an 8-bit output amplitude control. It operates on a single 3.3V supply and utilizes a simplified control interface with a 10 MHz serial SPI-compatible port.
This upconverter is available in an 80-lead LQFP surface-mount package, measuring 14x14mm. It supports multiple modes of operation including Quadrature modulator mode, Single-tone mode, and Interpolating DAC mode, making it suitable for agile LO frequency synthesis and broadband communication systems.
