The AD9853AS by Analog Devices is a versatile programmable digital modulator designed for applications requiring high integration and performance. It incorporates a high-speed direct digital synthesizer (DDS), a 10-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC), and digital filters on a single chip.

Key features include a 165 MHz internal reference clock capability and a 63x internal reference clock multiplier. The device supports multiple modulation formats such as FSK, QPSK, DQPSK, 16-QAM, and D16-QAM. It offers a Spurious-Free Dynamic Range (SFDR) of greater than 50 dB at 42 MHz output frequency for a single tone.

Operating from a single +3.3 V to +5 V supply, the AD9853AS consumes low power, approximately 750 mW at full clock speed with a 3.3 V supply. It is available in a space-saving surface mount package, making it suitable for designs where size and power dissipation are critical.
