AD9830ASTZ

The AD9830ASTZ is a high-performance direct digital synthesis (DDS) IC from Analog Devices. It integrates a numerically controlled oscillator, sine look-up table, and a 10-bit D/A converter on a single CMOS chip. The device supports clock rates up to 50 MHz and provides frequency accuracy controlled to one part in 4 billion through a 32-bit frequency tuning word. Modulation capabilities include phase and frequency modulation via parallel register loading.

The DDS offers an update rate of 50 MSPS and delivers a signal-to-noise ratio of 50 dB minimum. Spurious free dynamic range reaches -72 dBc in narrow band (±50 kHz) and -50 dBc in wide band (±2 MHz). The integrated 10-bit DAC provides a full-scale output current of 20 mA with ±1 LSB integral nonlinearity and ±0.5 LSB differential nonlinearity typical.

Designed for +5 V supply operation (4.75 V to 5.25 V), the AD9830ASTZ consumes 250 mW typical power. It includes a power-down option with sleep mode current as low as 0.25 mA. The device is specified over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.

The part is available in a 48-pin LQFP (Low Profile Quad Flat Package) with a 7x7 mm body, suitable for surface mount assembly. It is RoHS3 compliant and has a moisture sensitivity level of 1 (unlimited).
