The AD977ARZ is a 16-bit successive approximation (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices. It operates from a single 5V supply and provides a maximum throughput rate of 100 kSPS. The device includes an internal 2.5V reference and a high-speed SPI serial interface for data transfer.
Power dissipation is 100 mW maximum, with a power-down mode reducing consumption to 50 µW. The ADC supports selectable input ranges: unipolar (0 V to 10 V, 0 V to 5 V, 0 V to 4 V) and bipolar (±10 V, ±5 V, ±3.3 V). It is factory calibrated to minimize linearity errors.
The AD977ARZ is housed in a 20-lead SOIC package (0.295" width, 7.50 mm) with surface mount mounting. It is specified for an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Typical applications include automatic test equipment, process control, and industrial automation.
