The AD977ABRZ from Analog Devices is a 16-bit successive approximation (SAR) analog-to-digital converter offering a 200 kSPS throughput rate. It operates from a single 5 V supply with a maximum power dissipation of 100 mW and features a power-down mode consuming only 50 µW.
The ADC supports a range of input voltage configurations including unipolar 0 V to 10 V, 0 V to 5 V, and 0 V to 4 V; and bipolar ±10 V, ±5 V, and ±3.3 V. The internal 2.5 V reference can be used or an external reference can be applied. Data is transferred via a high-speed SPI interface.
The device is housed in a 20-pin SOIC (20-SOIC) surface-mount package and is specified for operation from -40°C to 85°C. Typical applications include automatic test equipment, process control, and industrial automation.
