The AD9762AR is a 12-bit resolution member of the TxDAC series of high-performance, low-power CMOS digital-to-analog converters (DACs) from Analog Devices. Optimized for the transmit signal path of communication systems, this DAC offers an exceptional update rate of 125 MSPS.
Key electrical specifications include 12-bit resolution, a spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) of 70 dBc to Nyquist at a 5 MHz output, and differential current outputs ranging from 2 mA to 20 mA. It operates from a single +3 V or +5 V supply, with power dissipation of 175 mW at 5 V and 45 mW at 3 V. A power-down mode further reduces standby power consumption to approximately 25 mW at 5 V.
The device integrates a 1.20 V temperature-compensated bandgap reference. It is available in a 28-lead SOIC and TSSOP package, suitable for various communication transmit channel applications, including basestations, ADSL/HFC modems, direct digital synthesis (DDS), and instrumentation.
This DAC utilizes an advanced CMOS process with a segmented current source architecture and a proprietary switching technique to enhance dynamic performance and reduce spurious components. Edge-triggered input latches are also integrated for a complete monolithic DAC solution.
