The AD9762AR is a 12-bit resolution member of the TxDAC family of high-performance, low-power CMOS digital-to-analog converters (DACs) from Analog Devices. Optimized for the transmit signal path of communication systems, it offers a maximum update rate of 125 MSPS. The device provides differential current outputs that can be adjusted from 2 mA to 20 mA, enabling flexible interface to external loads.
Key electrical characteristics include a typical settling time of 35 ns and an excellent spurious free dynamic range (SFDR) of 70 dBc at 5 MHz output to Nyquist. The ADC operates from a single supply voltage of 2.7V to 5.5V, with power dissipation of 175 mW at 5V and 45 mW at 3V. A power-down mode reduces dissipation to 25 mW. The architecture uses a current source design with segmented switches, and includes an on-chip 1.20V reference.
For design flexibility, the AD9762AR supports both external and internal reference modes, and features edge-triggered latches for synchronizing data inputs. The device is housed in a 28-lead SOIC surface-mount package (0.295" width, 7.50mm body) and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. The differential output and parallel data interface make it suitable for a wide range of high-speed applications.
