AD9708ARRL Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD9708ARRL is an 8-bit resolution member of the TxDAC series of high-performance, low-power CMOS digital-to-analog converters (DACs) from Analog Devices. It supports update rates up to 125 MSPS and offers exceptional AC and DC performance. The device features differential current outputs, with typical INL and DNL of 0.25 LSB. It achieves a SINAD of 50 dB at a 5 MHz output frequency.

The AD9708 operates from a single supply ranging from 2.7 V to 5.5 V for both analog and digital sections. Power dissipation is typically 175 mW at 5 V supply and 45 mW at 3 V supply, with a power-down mode reducing consumption to 20 mW at 5 V. The on-chip 1.20 V reference simplifies design. The settling time is 35 ns to 0.1% full scale.

The converter is available in a 28-lead SOIC package (0.295" width, 7.50 mm) for surface mount assembly. It uses a parallel data interface and edge-triggered latches. The AD9708 is suitable for communications, signal reconstruction, and instrumentation applications.
