The AD9518-3ABCPZ is a high-performance clock generator and fanout distribution IC from Analog Devices. It integrates a phase-locked loop (PLL) and a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) that tunes from 1.75 GHz to 2.25 GHz. The device provides six LVPECL outputs arranged in three differential pairs, each with a programmable divider and coarse phase delay.
The maximum output frequency for LVPECL outputs is 1.6 GHz. Additive output jitter is typically 225 fs rms, and channel-to-channel skew for paired outputs is less than 10 ps. The device accepts CMOS, LVDS, or LVPECL reference inputs up to 250 MHz. Supply voltage range is 3.135V to 3.465V, and operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
The AD9518-3ABCPZ is suitable for low jitter clock distribution in networking, telecommunications, and high-speed data conversion applications. It supports automatic synchronization on power-up and manual output synchronization. The on-chip VCO can be bypassed to use an external VCO or VCXO up to 2.4 GHz.
The device is housed in a 48-lead LFCSP package (7x7 mm) with exposed pad for thermal management. It is surface mount and RoHS3 compliant (unverified).
