The AD9516-1BCPZ is a high-performance clock generator and fanout distribution IC from Analog Devices. It integrates a phase-locked loop (PLL) with an on-chip VCO that tunes from 2.30 GHz to 2.65 GHz, providing a flexible clocking solution for demanding applications. The device accepts differential or single-ended reference inputs up to 250 MHz and supports automatic or manual reference switchover and holdover modes.
The AD9516-1BCPZ features 14 outputs: six pairs of 1.6 GHz LVPECL outputs, four pairs of 800 MHz LVDS outputs, and each LVDS output can be reconfigured as two 250 MHz CMOS outputs. Additive output jitter is 225 fs rms for LVPECL and 275 fs rms for LVDS. Each output pair includes programmable dividers with coarse phase delay, and LVDS outputs also offer fine delay adjust.
The device operates from a 3.135V to 3.465V supply and is specified over a -40°C to +85°C temperature range. It is housed in a 64-lead LFCSP (9x9 mm) package with an exposed pad for thermal management. The AD9516-1BCPZ is suitable for low jitter clock distribution in networking, wireless infrastructure, and high-speed data conversion systems.
