The AD9260AS is a monolithic 16-bit oversampled ADC from Analog Devices Inc. It uses a proprietary Sigma-Delta architecture combined with pipeline technology to achieve high dynamic range. With a maximum clock rate of 20 MSPS and 8x oversampling, it delivers a 2.5 MHz output word rate. The differential input has a ±1 V range centered at 2.0 V common-mode, providing a 4 V peak-to-peak full-scale range. Common-mode rejection ratio is 60 dB.
Dynamic performance includes a typical SNR of 88.5 dB, THD of -96 dB, and SFDR of 100 dB. Input referred noise is 0.6 LSB. The oversampling ratio is selectable between 1x, 2x, 4x, and 8x. Power dissipation can be set from 150 mW to 585 mW via a power scaling circuit. The device operates from a single 5 V analog supply and a digital supply of 5 V or 3 V.
Packaged in a 44-lead MQFP (10x10 mm) surface mount package, the AD9260AS operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. It outputs data in twos complement format and includes a synchronization capability for parallel ADC interfaces. Typical applications include high-speed data acquisition, communications, medical imaging, and instrumentation.
The AD9260AS has a resolution of 16 bits.
