The AD9255BCPZ-80 is a high-performance 14-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices, offering a sampling rate of 80 MSPS. It employs a pipelined architecture to achieve high-speed conversion with low power consumption. The device accepts differential analog inputs and provides a flexible data interface supporting LVDS or parallel CMOS outputs. An internal or external voltage reference can be selected. The ADC operates from a 1.7V to 1.9V analog supply and a separate digital output driver supply.
Key electrical specifications include a typical SNR of 78.3 dBFS and SFDR of 93 dBc (tested at 70 MHz input and 125 MSPS). Power dissipation is typically 371 mW at 125 MSPS. The device is designed for IF sampling up to 300 MHz and includes an on-chip dither option for improved SFDR. It also features an integer 1-to-8 input clock divider and a duty cycle stabilizer.
The AD9255BCPZ-80 is packaged in a 48-lead LFCSP (7x7 mm) with an exposed pad for thermal management. It is surface-mount and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to 85°C. Typical applications include communications receivers, smart antenna systems, software-defined radios, and ultrasound equipment.
