The AD9235BRUZRL7-40 is a 12-bit, 40 MSPS analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices. It uses a multistage differential pipelined architecture with output error correction logic to provide 12-bit accuracy at 40 MSPS data rates and guarantee no missing codes over the full operating temperature range.
The ADC operates from a single 3V supply (2.7V to 3.6V) and features a high performance sample-and-hold amplifier (SHA) with 500 MHz bandwidth. It supports both differential and single-ended analog inputs with a flexible 1 V p-p to 2 V p-p input range. Typical dynamic performance includes 70 dBc SNR and 85 dBc SFDR at Nyquist (65 MSPS). Differential nonlinearity is ±0.4 LSB typical.
The device is available in a 28-TSSOP surface mount package and uses a parallel data interface. It includes an on-chip voltage reference and clock duty cycle stabilizer. Power dissipation is 300 mW typical at 65 MSPS. The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
Typical applications include ultrasound equipment, IF sampling in communications receivers, battery-powered instruments, and low cost digital oscilloscopes.
