The AD9148BBPZ is a quad 16-bit digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices, designed for high dynamic range applications. It provides a maximum sample rate of 1000 MSPS and features four independent DAC channels. The device uses a current-source architecture with differential current output, adjustable from 8.7 mA to 31.7 mA. The output type is current-unbuffered, and the typical settling time is 20 ns.
The data interface is LVDS parallel, supporting 32- or 16-bit bus widths. The reference type can be external or internal. The converter operates from a 1.8 V digital supply and a 3.3 V analog supply, with total power dissipation of 3 W at maximum sample rate. Integral nonlinearity (INL) is typical ±3.7 LSB, and differential nonlinearity (DNL) is typical ±2.1 LSB.
The device is housed in a 196-BGA exposed pad package (12x12 mm) and is surface-mountable. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Applications include wireless infrastructure (W-CDMA, LTE, TD-SCDMA), MIMO/transmit diversity systems, and digital high or low IF synthesis.
