The AD9042AST is a high-speed, low-power monolithic 12-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices. It operates at a minimum sampling rate of 41 MSPS and includes on-chip track-and-hold (T/H) and reference, providing a complete conversion solution. The architecture is multipass, and the output format is twos complement with CMOS-compatible levels.
The ADC maintains 80 dB spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) over a 20 MHz bandwidth and a typical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 68 dB. It operates from a single 5V supply and dissipates only 595 mW of power, making it suitable for power-sensitive applications.
Typical applications include cellular/PCS base stations, GPS anti-jamming receivers, communications receivers, spectrum analyzers, electro-optics, medical imaging, and automatic test equipment (ATE). The device is housed in a 44-LQFP (10x10 mm) surface-mount package and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
