The AD8403AR1 is a quad-channel, 256-position digitally controlled variable resistor from Analog Devices. It offers a 1 kOhm end-to-end resistance with a linear taper and a SPI-compatible serial interface for wiper position control. The device operates from a single 2.7V to 5.5V supply and is qualified for automotive applications.
The digital potentiometer provides four independent variable resistors in a 24-SOIC package for surface-mount assembly. Each channel features a 256-tap wiper that linearly adjusts the resistance between the wiper and the fixed resistor endpoints. The wiper settings are volatile, requiring initialization after power-up.
Typical temperature coefficient is 700 ppm/°C, and the operating temperature range spans -40°C to +125°C, making it suitable for industrial and automotive environments. A cascade pin feature allows multiple devices to be daisy-chained for expanded channel count.
The resistance is 1 kOhm (nominal).
Each of the four channels provides 256 wiper tap positions.
The device operates from 2.7V to 5.5V.
It uses a SPI-compatible 3-wire serial interface.
It is supplied in a 24-SOIC (0.295", 7.50mm width) surface-mount package.
The device operates from -40°C to +125°C.
The wiper settings are volatile and require re-initialization after power loss.
