The AD8361 is a mean-responding power detector designed for high-frequency receiver and transmitter signal chains up to 2.5 GHz. It provides a calibrated RMS response with excellent temperature stability and a linear response of ±0.25 dB up to 2.5 GHz.
This detector operates on a single supply voltage ranging from 2.7 V to 5.5 V, with low power consumption of 3.3 mW at a 3 V supply. It features rapid power-down to less than 1 µA. The output is a linear-responding DC voltage with a typical conversion gain of 7.5 V/Vrms. An external filter capacitor can be added to increase the averaging time constant.
The AD8361 is suitable for measuring complex modulation waveforms such as CDMA and W-CDMA, offering an input range of up to 30 dB at 2.5 GHz. It is available in 8-lead MSOP and 6-lead SOT-23 packages and is specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C.
