The AD8302ARUZ-RL7 from Analog Devices is a fully integrated system for measuring gain/loss and phase in RF/IF applications, operating up to 2.7 GHz. It features dual demodulating log amps and a phase detector, with an input range from -60 dBm to 0 dBm in a 50 Ohm system.
This device offers accurate gain measurement scaling of 30 mV/dB and phase measurement scaling of 10 mV/Degree, with typical nonlinearities of less than 0.5 dB for gain and less than 1 Degree for phase. It supports measurement, controller, and level comparator modes.
The AD8302ARUZ-RL7 operates from supply voltages ranging from 2.7 V to 5.5 V and provides a stable 1.8 V reference voltage output. The small signal envelope bandwidth is from DC to 30 MHz, which can be optionally reduced with external filter capacitors. It is housed in a 14-TSSOP surface mount package.
Applications include RF/IF PA linearization, precise RF power control, remote system monitoring and diagnostics, and return loss/VSWR measurements. It can also function as a log ratio for AC signals.
