AD8220BRMZ-RL

The AD8220BRMZ-RL is a single-supply, JFET-input instrumentation amplifier from Analog Devices, housed in an MSOP package. It is engineered for demanding applications in portable instruments, offering a minimum Common Mode Rejection Ratio (CMRR) of 86 dB at DC and 80 dB at 5 kHz with a gain of 1. The device features a maximum input bias current of 10 pA, typically staying below 300 pA across the industrial temperature range. Its noise corner frequency is typically 10 Hz.

Designed to address the increasing need for lower power consumption in mixed-signal systems, the AD8220BRMZ-RL can be powered by dual supplies up to ±18 V or a single +5 V supply. The rail-to-rail output stage maximizes dynamic range at low supply voltages common in battery-powered devices. With a maximum quiescent current of only 750 µA, it is suitable for battery-operated equipment. Gain is set by a single external resistor, providing a gain range from 1 to 1000. Higher gains improve CMRR, beneficial for measuring small signals.

The output voltage can be offset using the reference pin, useful for interfacing with analog-to-digital converters. The MSOP package occupies approximately half the board area of an SOIC package. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
