AD8124ACPZ Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD8124ACPZ is a triple, high speed, differential receiver and equalizer from Analog Devices. It compensates for transmission losses of UTP and coaxial cables up to 200 meters in length. Various gain stages are summed together to best approximate the inverse cable loss characteristic.

Key specifications include a typical peak gain of 37 dB at 100 MHz and fast rise and fall times of 8 ns with a 2 V step at 200 meters of UTP cable. The device features two frequency response gain adjustment pins (VPEAK and VGAIN) and a pole location adjustment pin (VPOLE) to optimize for different cable types. DC output offset adjust (VOFFSET) allows low output offset voltage of 24 mV typical.

The receiver is designed for consumer video applications such as KVM, digital signage, RGB video over UTP cables, professional video projection and distribution, HD video, and security video. It can compensate for both RGB and YPbPr signals. Two on-chip comparators with hysteresis can be used for common-mode sync extraction.

The device is available in a 40-lead, 6 mm × 6 mm LFCSP package (40-LFCSP-WQ) with exposed pad for thermal management. It operates from a 4.5V to 5.5V supply and is surface mountable. The AD8124ACPZ is RoHS3 compliant and has an MSL rating of 1 (unlimited).
