The AD8108AST is a high-speed 8x8 buffered video crosspoint switch from Analog Devices, offering a -3dB bandwidth of 325 MHz and a slew rate of 400 V/µs. It provides nonblocking switching with 8 inputs and 8 outputs, each output amplifier capable of driving 150 Ω loads. The device achieves excellent video performance with 0.1 dB gain flatness out to 60 MHz, differential gain of 0.02%, and differential phase of 0.02°. Crosstalk is -83 dB at 5 MHz, and off isolation is -98 dB at 5 MHz, making it suitable for demanding video routing applications.
The switch matrix can be programmed via serial or parallel interface, and the serial data output allows daisy-chaining multiple devices for larger arrays. An output disable feature enables connection of multiple devices. The AD8108AST operates over the extended industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is packaged in an 80-lead LQFP (12x12 mm) for surface mount assembly. It is RoHS3 compliant and has an ESD rating of 4000 V (HBM).
Typical applications include routing composite video (NTSC, PAL, S, SECAM), component video (YUV, RGB), compressed video (MPEG, Wavelet), and 3-level digital video (HDB3). The device is pin-compatible with the AD8110/AD8111 16x8 switch arrays and can be used to build larger switching matrices.
The AD8108AST is packaged in an 80-lead LQFP (12x12 mm) for surface mount assembly.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C (extended industrial).
The AD8108AST is listed as RoHS3 Compliant, but this data is unverified and has low confidence.
The -3dB bandwidth is 325 MHz typical (gain = 1).
All hostile crosstalk is -83 dB typical at 5 MHz.
The slew rate is 400 V/µs typical.
The typical supply current is 45 mA.
