AD7984BCPZ-RL7 Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD7984BCPZ-RL7 is an 18-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices, offering a sampling rate of 1.33 MSPS. It operates from a single 2.5V supply (2.375V to 2.625V) and features a true differential analog input range of ±VREF to VREF with VREF between 2.9V and 5V. The device achieves excellent dynamic performance with a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 98.5 dB, total harmonic distortion (THD) of -110.5 dB, and an integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±2.25 LSB maximum.

The ADC uses a zero-latency architecture and is easy to drive with the ADA4941 amplifier. Power dissipation is low: 10.5 mW total at full speed and only 80 µW at 10 kSPS. The digital interface is SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE/DSP compatible and supports daisy-chaining multiple ADCs. The device is housed in a compact 10-lead LFCSP (3 mm × 3 mm) package and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.

Typical applications include automated test equipment, high-speed data acquisition systems, medical instruments, and machine automation. The AD7984BCPZ-RL7 is supplied in tape and reel packaging (suffix -RL7).
