The AD7943ARS-B is a 12-bit multiplying digital-to-analog converter (DAC) from Analog Devices, featuring a serial interface and an R-2R architecture. It is designed for single-supply operation from 3V to 5.5V and delivers a current-unbuffered output. The device guarantees integral nonlinearity (INL) and differential nonlinearity (DNL) of ±0.5 LSB maximum, ensuring excellent accuracy.
With a typical settling time of 5 µs, the AD7943ARS-B is suitable for a wide range of applications. When used with an external amplifier such as the AD843, settling time can be reduced to 600 ns to 0.01%. The DAC also features low glitch energy of 60 nV-s and low power dissipation of 5 mW typical, making it ideal for battery-powered and portable equipment.
The device is available in a 20-lead SSOP surface mount package and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. It requires an external reference and supports a 40 ns strobe pulsewidth for fast interface operation. The AD7943ARS-B is a direct upgrade for the industry-standard AD7543 in 5V designs.
