The AD7921ARMZ is a 12-bit, high-speed, low-power, 2-channel successive approximation ADC from Analog Devices. It operates from a single 2.35 V to 5.25 V power supply and supports throughput rates up to 250 kSPS. The device includes a low-noise, wide bandwidth track-and-hold amplifier capable of handling input frequencies above 6 MHz. It achieves a minimum SNR of 71 dB at 100 kHz input frequency. Power dissipation is 4 mW typical at 250 kSPS with 3 V supplies and 13.5 mW typical with 5 V supplies. The conversion process is controlled via CS and serial clock, compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP interfaces. The analog input range is 0 to VDD, with the reference derived from the supply voltage. The ADC is available in an 8-lead MSOP surface-mount package, suitable for space-constrained designs. Typical applications include battery-powered systems, medical instruments, mobile communications, and data acquisition systems.
