The AD7880BN is a 12-bit, low power, successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices. It features a 66 kHz throughput rate with a 12 µs conversion time and a 3 µs on-chip track/hold amplifier. The device operates from a single +5V supply and includes a power save mode reducing dissipation to 2 mW typical.
This ADC achieves a typical signal-to-noise ratio of 70 dB and offers a fast data access time of 57 ns. The parallel interface and standard control inputs simplify integration with modern microprocessors and digital signal processors. The internal resistor network allows both unipolar and bipolar input signal ranges.
Housed in a 24-lead 0.3" wide DIP package (24-DIP), the AD7880BN is intended for through-hole mounting. It is suitable for battery-powered portable systems, digital signal processing, speech recognition, high-speed modems, and control instrumentation applications.
