The AD7879-1ACBZ-RL is a 12-bit successive approximation ADC-based touch screen controller designed for 4-wire resistive touch screens. It operates from a single 1.6V to 3.6V supply and features a synchronous serial interface (I²C and Serial). The device includes a median and averaging filter to reduce noise, an automatic conversion sequencer and timer, and user-programmable conversion parameters. Additional features include an auxiliary analog input/battery monitor (0.5V to 5V), one optional GPIO, interrupt outputs (INT, PENIRQ), touch-pressure measurement, and a wake-up on touch function. The shutdown mode draws a maximum of 6 μA. The AD7879-1ACBZ-RL is offered in a 12-ball WLCSP package (1.61mm x 2.01mm) and is surface mount compatible.
