The AD7878LN is a fast, complete 12-bit analog-to-digital converter from Analog Devices, designed for high-speed DSP interface applications. The device integrates a track/hold amplifier with 2 µs acquisition time, a 7 µs (typical) successive-approximation ADC, an internal 3 V Zener reference, and an 8-word FIFO memory with associated control logic.
Key electrical specifications include a sampling rate of 100 kHz, a single-ended ±3 V input voltage range, and a signal-to-noise ratio of 70 dB minimum (at 10 kHz input frequency). The converter achieves a maximum total harmonic distortion of -80 dB and guarantees no missing codes at 12-bit resolution. The device operates from +5 V and -5 V supplies with a typical power dissipation of 60 mW.
The ADC also includes an internal reference and logic that interfaces directly to high-speed DSP processors such as the ADSP-2100 or TMS32010. The device is available in a 28-lead DIP (0.600" width, 15.24mm pitch) package and is intended for through-hole mounting. The L version operates over a 0°C to 70°C temperature range.
The AD7878LN has a 12-bit resolution with no missing codes guaranteed.
The AD7878LN has a sampling rate of 100 kHz.
The analog input voltage range is ±3 V, single-ended.
The SNR is 70 dB minimum with a 10 kHz sine wave input at 100 kHz sample rate.
The AD7878LN is available in a 28-pin PDIP (0.600" width, 15.24mm pitch) through-hole package.
The device requires +5 V for V_DD and V_CC, and -5 V for V_SS, each with ±5% tolerance.
The L version operates from 0°C to 70°C.
