AD7869JR Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD7869JR is a complete 14-bit analog I/O system from Analog Devices, integrating a 14-bit successive approximation ADC with a track-and-hold amplifier and a 14-bit DAC with an output buffer amplifier. The ADC section achieves a throughput rate of 83 kHz, while the DAC settles to 14 bits in 4 µs. On-chip temperature compensated 3 V buried Zener references provide precision references for both the ADC and DAC.

Interfacing to both the DAC and ADC is serial, minimizing pin count and enabling a compact 28-SOIC surface mount package. Standard control signals allow serial interfacing to most DSP machines. Asynchronous ADC conversion control and DAC updating are made possible with the CONVST and LDAC logic inputs.

The device operates from ±5 V power supplies with a typical power dissipation of 130 mW. The analog input and output range for both the ADC and DAC is ±3 V. The AD7869JR is supplied in a 28-SOIC (0.295", 7.50mm Width) surface mount package.
