AD7868BRZ Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD7868BRZ is a complete 12-bit analog I/O system from Analog Devices, integrating a 12-bit successive approximation ADC with a track-and-hold amplifier and a 12-bit DAC with an output buffer amplifier. The ADC achieves a throughput rate of 83 kHz and a signal-to-noise ratio of 72 dB. The DAC has a settling time of 3 µs to 12 bits and also features a 72 dB SNR. On-chip temperature compensated 3 V buried Zener references provide precision references for both the DAC and ADC.

Interfacing to both the DAC and ADC is serial, minimizing pin count and enabling easy connection to most DSP processors. Asynchronous ADC conversion control and DAC updating are made possible with the CONVST and LDAC logic inputs. The device operates from ±5 V power supplies and has an analog input/output voltage range of ±3 V. Typical power dissipation is 130 mW.

The AD7868BRZ is housed in a 28-SOIC surface mount package with a 7.50 mm body width. It is designed for applications such as digital signal processing, speech recognition and synthesis, spectrum analysis, high speed modems, and DSP servo control.
