The AD7859ASZ is a high-speed, low-power, 12-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices. It offers a maximum sampling rate of 200 kSPS and features eight input channels configurable as pseudo-differential or single-ended. The device includes an internal reference and also supports an external reference for flexibility.
The ADC operates from a single 3V to 5.5V supply, making it suitable for battery-powered applications. It incorporates self-calibration and system calibration options to maintain accuracy over time and temperature. The parallel interface supports both 16-bit and 8-bit data transfers, and the device is available in a 44-pin MQFP (10x10 mm) surface-mount package.
Typical applications include battery-powered systems such as personal digital assistants, medical instruments, and mobile communications, as well as pen computers, instrumentation and control systems, and high-speed modems. The AD7859ASZ is designed for low power consumption, drawing 15 mW at 3V during normal operation.
