The AD7845JN is a complete 12-bit multiplying DAC fabricated on Analog Devices’ LC2MOS process, integrating a precision output amplifier and matched application resistors on chip. This 4-quadrant multiplying DAC offers guaranteed monotonicity over temperature and simplifies design with on-chip resistors for gain ranging and voltage offsetting.
Key electrical specifications include a voltage-buffered output with a settling time of 5 µs, R-2R architecture, and an external reference. The parallel data interface, controlled by standard CS and WR signals, enables straightforward microprocessor connection. The DAC operates from a dual supply of ±14.25V to 15.75V and is specified over the 0°C to 70°C temperature range.
The device is housed in a 24-pin DIP (0.300", 7.62mm) package with through-hole mounting, suitable for prototyping and industrial applications. The on-chip output amplifier can drive –10 V into a 2 kΩ load, reducing external component count.
