The AD7843ARUZ-REEL7 is a 12-bit successive approximation ADC designed for touch screen digitizing applications. It features a 4-wire resistive touch screen interface and a high-speed serial interface. The device operates from a single 2.2V to 5.25V power supply and achieves a throughput rate of 125 kSPS. Power dissipation is only 1.37 mW maximum at 125 kSPS with VCC = 3.6V, making it ideal for battery-powered systems. The analog input range is 0V to VREF, with an external reference. A shutdown mode reduces current consumption to less than 1 µA. The AD7843ARUZ-REEL7 is available in a 16-lead TSSOP package (16-TSSOP, 0.173" width) for surface mount assembly. It is suitable for personal digital assistants, smart hand-held devices, touch screen monitors, point-of-sales terminals, and pagers.
