AD7792BRUZ Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD7792BRUZ is a 16-bit, low noise, low power sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices. It features three differential inputs, a programmable gain amplifier (PGA), and an on-chip band gap reference with typical drift of 4 ppm/°C. The device operates from a supply voltage range of 2.7 V to 5.25 V and consumes only 400 µA typical current, with a power-down current of 1 µA maximum.

The ADC supports multiple data interfaces including SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP-compatible 3-wire serial. It provides a maximum sampling rate of 470 S/s with update rates from 4.17 Hz to 470 Hz. The sigma-delta architecture delivers high resolution with typical RMS noise of 40 nV at 4.17 Hz (gain 64) and 85 nV at 16.7 Hz. Integral nonlinearity is ±15 ppm of FSR maximum, and gain error is ±10 µV maximum.

The device is designed for precision measurement applications such as thermocouple, RTD, and thermistor measurements, as well as industrial process control and instrumentation. It includes an internal clock oscillator and simultaneous 50 Hz/60 Hz rejection. The AD7792BRUZ is offered in a 16-lead TSSOP surface-mount package, measuring 5 mm x 4.4 mm with a maximum height of 1.05 mm. It is rated for operation from -40°C to +105°C.
