The AD7787BRMZ is a low-power, 24-bit sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices. It provides two input channels, one differential and one single-ended, making it suitable for a variety of sensor and measurement applications. The device operates from an internal clock and features a 3-wire serial interface compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP. The output data rate is software-programmable from 9.5 Hz to 120 Hz, allowing designers to trade off speed and noise performance.
With a maximum power dissipation of 225 µW at 3V and a normal-mode supply current of only 75 µA, the AD7787BRMZ is optimized for battery-powered and portable equipment. It achieves an RMS noise of 1.1 µV at 9.5 Hz update rate and 22-bit effective resolution, with typical integral nonlinearity of 3.5 ppm. The part includes a VDD monitor channel and operates from a 2.5V to 5.25V supply, covering a wide range of system voltages.
The ADC is offered in a compact 10-lead MSOP surface-mount package (3mm × 3mm, 0.85mm height), making it suitable for space-constrained designs. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +105°C. Typical applications include smart transmitters, battery-powered instrumentation, temperature and pressure measurement, weigh scales, and 4-20 mA loop systems.
