AD7731BN Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD7731BN is a complete analog front-end for process control applications, integrating a 24-bit sigma-delta ADC with a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) and input multiplexer. It operates from a single +5 V supply and accepts a wide range of unipolar and bipolar input signals, from ±20 mV to ±1.28 V.

The device provides three buffered differential analog inputs that can be configured as five pseudo-differential inputs, along with a differential external reference input. The programmable digital filter allows adjustment of filter cutoff, output rate, and settling time, with a maximum sampling rate of 6.4 kHz. The peak-to-peak resolution is 16 bits at an 800 Hz output rate.

The AD7731BN is housed in a 24-lead PDIP (0.300", 7.62mm) package with through-hole mounting. It communicates via a three-wire serial interface compatible with microcontrollers and DSPs. The operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.
