The AD7690BRMZ-RL7 is an 18-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices, offering a maximum sampling rate of 400 kSPS. It achieves excellent linearity with typical integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±0.75 LSB and maximum ±1.5 LSB. The device provides a true differential analog input range of ±VREF, with an external reference voltage up to the supply voltage (VDD).
Key electrical performance includes a dynamic range of 102 dB at 400 kSPS, which improves to 125 dB when oversampled at 1 kSPS. Signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SINAD) is 101.5 dB at 1 kHz input, and total harmonic distortion (THD) is -125 dB. The ADC operates from a single 5 V supply and features a flexible logic interface supporting 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3 V, or 5 V levels. Power dissipation is extremely low: 4.25 µW at 100 SPS and 4.25 mW at 100 kSPS, with a standby current of only 1 nA.
The AD7690 is housed in a 10-lead MSOP package (10-MSOP) and is designed for surface mount assembly. It uses a proprietary serial interface compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP, and supports daisy-chaining multiple ADCs. The device is suitable for battery-powered equipment, data acquisition systems, seismic instrumentation, digital voltmeters, and medical instruments.
The AD7690BRMZ-RL7 has 18-bit resolution.
The maximum sampling rate is 400 kSPS.
The device requires a single 5 V supply.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to 85°C.
It is available in a 10-MSOP surface mount package.
It is listed as RoHS3 compliant, but this is unverified and has low confidence.
The device supports SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP interfaces.
