The AD7688BRMZ is a 16-bit, 500 kSPS successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Analog Devices, part of the PulSAR family. It achieves 16-bit resolution with no missing codes and provides excellent linearity with ±0.4 LSB typical INL (±1.5 LSB max). The ADC offers a typical SNR of 95.5 dB and a dynamic range of 96.5 dB, with THD of −118 dB at 20 kHz. It samples the true differential analog input (IN+ to IN−) with a range up to VREF. The device operates from a single 5 V analog supply and features a separate logic supply (VIO) that supports 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 3 V, or 5 V interfaces. Power dissipation is only 3.75 mW at 100 kSPS and 3.75 µW at 100 SPS, making it ideal for battery-powered applications. The ADC includes a track-and-hold circuit with no pipeline delay and a proprietary SPI/DSP-compatible serial interface that supports daisy-chaining. The AD7688BRMZ is packaged in a space-saving 10-lead MSOP (10-TFSOP, 10-MSOP) for surface-mount assembly and operates over −40°C to +85°C. Typical applications include battery-powered equipment, data acquisition systems, instrumentation, medical instruments, and process control.
