AD7687BRMZ Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD7687BRMZ is a 16-bit, charge redistribution successive approximation analog-to-digital converter (SAR ADC) from Analog Devices. It achieves a throughput of 250 kSPS with no missing codes and offers excellent linearity with typical INL of ±0.4 LSB and maximum ±1.5 LSB. The true differential analog input range is ±VREF, supporting VREF up to VDD. Dynamic performance includes a signal-to-noise ratio of 95.5 dB at 20 kHz and total harmonic distortion of -118 dB at 20 kHz.

The device operates from a single 2.3 V to 5.5 V supply and features a low power dissipation of 1.35 mW at 2.5 V/100 kSPS, scaling down to 1.4 µW at 100 SPS. The serial interface is SPI/QSPI/MICROWIRE/DSP compatible and supports daisy-chaining multiple ADCs with a BUSY indicator. The ADC is housed in a 10-lead MSOP package (0.118", 3.00mm Width) and is also available in a 10-lead LFCSP variant. It is pin-compatible with the AD7685, AD7686, and AD7688.

Typical applications include battery-powered equipment, data acquisition systems, instrumentation, medical instruments, and process controls. The device is RoHS3 compliant (unverified) and has an MSL rating of 1 (unlimited).
