The AD7685ARMZ is a 16-bit, 250 kSPS successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) manufactured by Analog Devices. It offers no missing codes and features a pseudo-differential input range of 0 V to VREF, with VREF up to VDD. The device operates from a single 2.3 V to 5.5 V supply and includes a 1.8 V to 5 V logic interface.
Key performance specifications include an integral nonlinearity (INL) of ±0.6 LSB typical and ±2 LSB maximum, a signal-to-noise and distortion ratio (SINAD) of 93.5 dB at 20 kHz, and total harmonic distortion (THD) of -110 dB at 20 kHz. Power dissipation is very low, with 1.4 µW at 100 SPS and 2.5 V, and 1.35 mW at 100 kSPS and 2.5 V. The device also features a standby current of 1 nA.
The AD7685ARMZ uses a charge redistribution architecture with no pipeline delay, making it suitable for battery-powered equipment, medical instruments, and data acquisition systems. It communicates via a proprietary serial interface compatible with SPI, QSPI, MICROWIRE, and DSP. The device is available in a 10-lead MSOP package and is specified for operation from -40°C to +85°C.
