AD7663ASTZ Description

Short technical summary and product information.

The AD7663ASTZ is a 16-bit, 250 kSPS charge redistribution SAR analog-to-digital converter from Analog Devices. It operates from a single 5V power supply and includes a resistor input scaler that supports multiple analog input voltage ranges: bipolar ±10V, ±5V, and ±2.5V, as well as unipolar 0V to 10V, 0V to 5V, and 0V to 2.5V.

This ADC delivers high performance with a typical signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 90 dB at a 100 kHz input and total harmonic distortion (THD) of -100 dB typical. Integral nonlinearity (INL) is ±3 LSB maximum (±0.0046% of full scale). The device guarantees no missing codes over the full operating temperature range of -40°C to 85°C.

The AD7663ASTZ is housed in a 48-lead LQFP package (7x7 mm) for surface mount assembly. It offers flexible data interfaces including SPI, parallel (8/16-bit), and DSP-compatible serial modes. Typical power dissipation is 35 mW, dropping to 15 µW at 100 SPS and 7 µW maximum in power-down mode. The part is pin-to-pin compatible with the AD7660, AD7664, and AD7665.
